Randy Golden Award

The Iowa Rural Water Association (IRWA) is pleased to announce that Randy Pleima with the Mahaska Rural Water System has been awarded the one and only IRWA Gold Award. Mr. Pleima was presented this honor during the Iowa Rural Water Association’s 50th Annual Conference.

This special recognition award is presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to IRWA either legislatively or in other capacities. As we celebrate a half a century of Rural Water, we wanted to honor an individual that has given so much to the Iowa Rural Water Association. Mr. Pleima has been not just active but has given a careers worth of service to the association. He has been on the IRWA Board of Directors since 1994. In that time, he has been the longest acting Board President to date. This first time Randy Pleima served as board President was from 2000-2004 and then again from 2006-2016 for a total of 14 years. Randy has also served as Vice President for the last few years. Randy’s direction and leadership has been instrumental in the success of IRWA. In 2015 Randy also began representing the association as the Iowa National Director. He has been very active with volunteering to sit on many steering committees and NRWA board appointed positions. It is safe to say that the Iowa Rural Water Association would not be nearly as successful today without the dedication and commitment from one of our longest leaders.

For his dedication and leadership in the industry, the Iowa Rural Water Association is proud to take this opportunity to honor our very own “Golden Boy” Randy Pleima for his many years of service.
